Ronnie Simpson, an American, combat-wounded, and retired Marine Corps veteran, is a prominent figure in the sailing world and decided to enter the Global Solo Challenge (GSC) whilst supporting US Patriot Sailing, a veterans’ sailing non-profit organization. 9/27/2022 – In a double announcement by it is confirmed today that Iain Murray has been appointed as Independent Regatta Director for the 37th America’s Cup in Barcelona alongside Richard Slater who continues in the role as Chief Umpire, positions they both occupied for the 36th America’s Cup in Auckland. The United States SailGP Team revealed its complete SailGP Season 2 lineup today with the announcement of athletes Daniela Moroz, CJ Perez, and Paul Campbell-James to its roster in addition to its acquisition of Philippe Presti as head coach.
