Nine days will be dedicated to the passion for navigation, between yachts and superyachts, water trials, conferences, exhibitions and regattas. The third edition of the Venice Boat Show, the sustainability laboratory, returns to the Arsenale of Venice from 28 May to 5 June.
For the third time, the ancient ship factory of the Serenissima will be the site of the Venice Boat Show , which consolidates its position in the context of major exhibitions dedicated to boating. A point of reference for the Adriatic and the whole long route from Venice to Istanbul along the Eastern Mediterranean .
For the Mayor of the city Luigi Brugnaro it is a great satisfaction to have brought to fruition the slogan launched for the first edition, when he declared “naval art comes home” . Since last year it can be said that “she has come home” and that shipbuilding is increasingly liking it. “ I thank the shipyards that trust the Salone – he said – Venice is the best stage for their excellent products because it knows how to combine tradition with the themes of modernity. I also thank the Navy for the continuous collaboration that allows us to set up the Arsenal. We will see many boats and there will be a lot of sustainability, the theme on which our city is a candidate for world capital. I am happy with the results and I thank the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella for the continued collaboration, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Luigi di Maio for having favored the meeting with the ICE Agency for promotion abroad and internationalization and all those who have worked with commitment to the growth and success of this event. The city will be able to be reborn if we re-functionalize its places, the most complicated thing is to build functions and keep them here. Coming to the show for boating customers means discovering that the Adriatic is the safest sea in the world. It will be an exhibition of technological research, innovation, experimentation, design and nautical culture, a sector in which Italy excels “.
Admiral Andrea Romani , commander of the Institute of Maritime Military Studies and of the Navy Presidium of Venice , recalled that ” the Navy has shared from the beginning the Mayor’s plan to organize a Boat Show at the Arsenale, putting disposing of its spaces and stretches of water “and underlining that the Marina is alongside the municipal administration and the city. The Navy will be present at the Show both with stands and carrying three important ships (Procida ship, Commander Tedeschi ship and, on the San Biagio shore, Comandante Foscari ship) and with an exhibition of an aviation team launch from two helicopters that will land in the waters of the Arsenale with precision landing.
The Arsenale is a water basin of 50,000 square meters, within which more than 1,000 linear meters of piers will be installed, and 30,000 square meters of outdoor exhibition spaces. The large tents, which in the past hosted the construction of the galleys, will welcome the best of nautical design and furnishings, art exhibitions and Venetian craftsmanship for a total of 5,000 square meters.
” In this new edition, the number of boats on display grows by 25%, from 240 to 300 (of which 240 in the water) for a total length of 2.7 kilometers – explains Alberto Bozzo, the commercial director of the Venice Boat Show – 98 per cent of the exhibitors of the 2021 edition confirmed their presence again, a figure that shows confidence in the event. This year there will be 200 exhibitors ”.
The great leading groups of national and international construction have confirmed their presence. Azimut Benetti is back for the second time with an important fleet (such as the Magellano 66 and the 25-meter in the timeless version) and with an increase in investment.
” We have believed in the Venice Motor Show from the beginning and we are happy to renew our participation this year too – said the Vice President of Azimut | Benetti Group, Giovanna Vitelli – Its importance and prestige derive not only from the international character of the frame – which has always been a destination for visitors in particular from Central Europe and Eastern Europe, but also from the great creativity and professionalism in the organization, which it proves year after year. This constant commitment and passion allow our customer to have a unique experience, in line with Azimut’s values and philosophy “.
He exhibits for the first time in Venice Sanlorenzo , which in recent weeks has already been the protagonist of the Venetian spring as sponsor of the Italian Pavilion of the Biennale Arte with a combination that combines its industrial vocation with the work of Gian Maria Tosatti . Sanlorenzo will be present with several boats but above all the 32-meter SL106 which embodies the core business of its production divided into different lines.
“ We are happy to participate, a Salone was needed on the oriental market – declared Cavalier Massimo Perotti, Executive Chairman for Sanlorenzo – we are already the main partner of the Italian Pavilion, we will also be the main partner of the Architecture Biennale and Sanlorenzo will focus more and more on Venice. Italian boating is a world leader and this must become the show for super yachts and pleasure boats, of which it builds 550 ships out of a total of 1024 ”.
Ferretti Group , the shipyard that gave the spark for the start of this show, which, as usual, will take the opportunity to present some novelties in absolute premieres such as the awaited Wallypower 58 and the smaller 43X , which will be alongside a of the flagships, the 32-meter Custom Line 106 .
” The Venice Boat Show represents Made in Italy and I am worried because next year there will be a battle for seats because from Lebanon to Venice it is the only Salone in the Mediterranean – says Alberto Galassi, CEO of Ferretti – Venice is the most beautiful in the world, it offers logistics, the Biennale, museums, hospitality and makes the difference. The privilege of being there is ours and we will invite our customers to see the most beautiful boats in the world in the most beautiful city in the world “.
From England he arrives alongside the Italian shipyards Sunseeker : a presence that opens the Venetian event to an international dimension: ” We will be present with boats that are very representative of our core business such as the 65 sport yacht, which last year made its debut has captured the attention and the 68 Manhattan – says Andrea Frabetti, CEO of Sunseeker Intrenational – “In the Adriatic together with Sunseeker Italy we have sold with satisfaction and we have reference offices both in Croatia and in Montenegro ”. As highlighted by the operational director of Vela spa, Fabrizio D’Oria , the “horizontal” theme of the Salone will be sustainability that sees Venice at the forefront as a world candidate thanks to its conformation that makes it an open-air laboratory capable of looking to the future promoting an environmental model. It will therefore be the theme of the very rich cultural offer in the various conferences that will animate the event every day: about thirty conferences that will investigate the various issues related to going to sea in a sustainable way.
There are 36 electric boats . We should mention Yamaha that presents Harmo an electric motor mounted on Respiro , a boat produced by Venmar based in the Lido of Venice, but above all an electric mobility strategy that does not stop at the sea. Other protagonists will be Huracan , Torqeedo , the Candela shipyard from Sweden with the world premiere of the C8 and a new foiling “water taxi” project. Aqua Superpower presents new charging stations. Again, the E-regattaat the second edition and the presence of the brand new electric one design for powerboat racing E1 racebird in world premiere both on the water and on land.
As always, the traditional Venetian shipbuilding industry finds space in the Salone , with the boats that the city need every day to live, built in the shipyards of the Lagoon with their scent of tradition but also of technology.
The nine days of the event will also be an opportunity to give space to entertainment with regattas and trophies , with a very rich program including motorboat events with the arrival of the Pavia Venezia and regattas with the Salone Nautico Cup , as well as many opportunities for relaxation. for families and children with activities, restaurants, rowing and sailing and rediscovery of the places of the Arsenale.
