Aarhus, Denmark – 8/20/2021 – By SailGP – Just an hour before racing was due to begin in Aarhus, Spain’s F50 Victoria keeled over and sustained too much damage to its foil to take part in Friday’s three fleet races.

All athletes have been accounted for and are safe.

The Spanish, who sit sixth in the Championship heading into the fourth event of Season 2, were last time out shown the first ever Black Flag in SailGP, having had a risky starting maneuver protested by both the United States and Denmark in Plymouth.

Ahead of the action kicking off in Aarhus, Spain’s Driver Phil Robertson insisted he will continue to push the boundaries in SailGP even if it frustrates the rest of the fleet.

“I think we have flogged the Black Flag to death now and there might not be any Black Flags left in the world now,” said Robertson.

“But everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and if us going out there to win starts is making us unpopular – so be it.

“We are here to win races and win events, and we are going to keep pushing.”
