Join in the SailGP Inspire Program for ages 9 – 23 for forging the future

Inspire is SailGP’s community, education and outreach initiative, powered by their belief that sailing can be a force for good, Powered by Nature, Driven by Purpose.

If you are between the ages 9 and 23, you made it. The goal of the SailGP Inspire program is to leave a positive legacy and build a sustainable sport – by providing equal, life-changing opportunities and new career pathways for all, regardless of race or socioeconomic background.

Launched in Cowes, UK, in August 2019, and taking place at all subsequent grand prix events, SailGP Inspire comprises three innovative pathways for young people, students and aspiring sailors: Learning, Careers and Racing.

SailGP Inspire aims to serve a leading role in helping to diversify the sport of sailing. A portion of the community outreach program will focus on introducing diverse youth (race, gender, and socioeconomic status ) to the sport, and partnering with World Sailing, National Sailing Federations, and local community sailing clubs and programs to offer accessible entry points.

SailGP Inspire works with each host venue and its partners RS Sailing, WASZP, Rooster, MarkSetBot, World Sailing Trust, EPropulsion and Doyle Sails to offer programs that create impact within the local community and most importantly leave a legacy.

These allow people aged 9-23 to:

  • Learn and be nurtured through engaging and innovative STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)-based modules
  • Work with and among science and technology through a sustainable approach
  • Develop professional routes into the sport through internships, work experience and coaching
  • Gain valuable life skills as well as knowledge about health, nutrition and the environmen
